Abstract

English language skill ability is an important talent for educational achievement, mainly for college students from various cultural and linguistic backgrounds. This article seeks to equip educators with sensible strategies to assist those college students in improving their literacy abilities vital for educational success. The assignment lies in addressing the precise instructional necessities of English language learners (ELLs) thru tailor-made coaching techniques. The aim of this article is to offer educators effective strategies to aid ELLs in developing crucial literacy skills for academic excellence. The research methodology employed is a qualitative literature review, encompassing language acquisition theories, distinctions between social and academic language, and successful English language learning strategies utilized by proficient language learners. The study involved thirty students from a senior high school in Bani Waleed. The findings of this review highlight six key strategies for teaching ELLs, such as fostering relationships and cultural responsiveness, integrating language skills throughout the curriculum, utilizing tangible objects for concept illustration, engaging in role-playing or pantomiming, using visual aids like pictures, and implementing total physical response techniques.
