Abstract

Women and men have different & unequal resources and responsibilities, which have implications on their existing and potential capacity to contribute to development. Development policy and planning must take cognizance of this if it is to ensure efficient and equitable use of scarce resources. The roles that women play is different in any given society and their situation is determined by the legislation, religious norms, economic status, cultural values ethnicity and types of productive activity of their country, community and household.
